I need some advise

following is a letter i am going to send to the entire family both jw and non.

i would like to get your advice on whether i should do it.

my husband has told me before to voice my complaints but i have yet.

i just finished reading chapters 11-12 of raymond franz, crises of conscience & i must admit, i am pretty strong person, however the way ed dunlap & ray franz were treated left me crying, i had tears rolling done my eyes driving home from work on friday... & how ed was kicked out by wt, left me feel soo disgusted & outraged.... it was very obvious he needed to stay at bethel because of his age & medical conditions but i admired he didn't compromise his conscious, it's sickening to me how cold & callous these men can treat a christian after all his service.... & of course ray franz situation was no exception either, the witch hunt they did to get him out was, well, there's just isnt enough adjectives to describe their disgusting motives against him... he was 59 yrs old trying to make a honest living with his wife & for them to go after him was devious & demon like.... i'm soo grateful i came across this book & i wished i had much much sooner.... i know god will reward both ed dunlap & franz plus many many more who have been unjustly & unchristian like treated during that time & this time, sooo sickening.....i still feel very much upset & emotional over the whole thing .... i never met any of them & then yet i feel deep christian love for them......

Millie210: Yes I stop going to an English congregation years ago. I have found that people just go for the people, they don't care much about the "doctrines" or changes, just following the heard like usual. It's a different culture where there are alot of social gatherings, people talk, bring food and have music and dancing-"wordly music".... in the language congregation I am in very rarely "apostates" are mentioned from the platform or talks. I only hear about "apostates" at conventions or assemblies.

I don't think many in this language group really understand the changes of the faithful discrete slave, overlapping generations, etc....I also do not believe many even heard the infamous "tight pants" talk by Morris or even the annual meetings talks, I think because many do not understand English very well or at all so they are oblivion to what their leaders are saying. They care more making friendships and going to the next gathering and talk about trivial things. The culture has alot to do with it too I think, more warmer, touchy touch people and embracing of change, they like being followers and do not question authority because its in bedded in their culture...

JW facts.com is not translated in another language than english and the earlier WT publications back in the 1900s were only in English so many JWs in other language groups who do not understand english very well wouldn't be able to read those and know what was being taught to wake them up!!

Has anybody seen the movie "The Danish Girl " ?

i watched it today and i truly enjoyed it .to me it was truly an emotional journey for what this young man went through .. i had tears rolling down my face for half the movie which goes for 2 hours.

eddie redmayne deserves an oscar for his performance and so does the woman playing his wife alicia vikander , based on a true story.. in my heyday as a witness i probably would have turned it off and banned it from my home .. it`s an amazing journey life takes you after exiting a cult religion .. smiddy.

I haven't watched it either but also plan to... also the Revenant is great, I think Leonardo should take the win, it's just awesome the way his acting was in that movie

@leaving_quietly: your situation is similar to me but I'm a female, i stop going to FS in June, any calls? Nope, I stopped going to weekly mtg in Oct, any calls, contact from elders? Nope, I rarely attend the WT mtg since Nov, any calls, texts? Nope, nothing, nada.... They just don't care honestly, it's all about performance & show to them, do good, show good or we don't care for you.... now I see how much their "love of sheparding the sheep" really is .... oh but wait!! if they hear a rumor of "wrong doing" they won't hesitate to get a hold of you & harass you to meet with them ASAP... "by their fruits you will know them" .... definitely true....

Is it true? Heard a rumor WT postphones Disfellowshipping until further notice!!??

i am not sure if it's true but i heard from a good source that wt has given instructions to elders to postponed disfellowshipping members from wrong doing/gross sin until further instructions given by headquarters.

i heard some jws were just reproved either privately or publically.

has anyone else heard anything like this recently?

KateWild: A elder (who knows TTATT and is slowly fading) who has a high up ranking relative at Bethel. This elder I've known since the late 90s when I was 17 and I just started going to mtgs, he is 3rd generation born in and all his family was in. Very respected elder because the family he came from, he is now about 60s.. He started having doubts with the overlapping generations, if you were in his group at book study he you couldn't go into it without studying or doing research, always into prophecies, facts and logical person. He made sure you came prepared to your book study, he would give us questions to do research for next book study. Ran into him a few months back at the grocery store and I already knew TTATT so I knew how reasonable and logical of a man he is I asked him what he thought about the overlapping generation teachings. That is when I discover he wasn't buying it. So I ran into him again recently.

That congregation at one point had like 17 elders in it and 8 Ms. for only 110 publishers. We were the only English congregation in a predominate Spanish speaking territory.

Not sure but it seems they are taking a lighter approach towards sins committed by JWs, elders not quick to DF anymore.

WT Mtg "read scriptures" are only to be read by a 1 brother???

we had co visit recently & it appears that the co told the elders of the congregation that the scriptures indicated on the wt to be "read" on the watchtower study are only to be read by 1 brother in the entire study.... the elder conducting the watchtower announced that at the wt mtg... i was like what???

only men?....

has anyone else had this occur in their congregation?

@Dunedain: yes you are correct that's how the WT mtg is conducted, do you remember the WT also having scriptures cited on the paragraphs? Well they are still there but now some say "read Luke 21:8" for i.e. meaning the scripture needs to be read whereas before it was left it up to the conductor to decide which ones he wanted to have read by whoever raises their hand & hrs choses bro/sis or a child... there are other scriptures that don't say "read" & normally the conductor doesn't have anyone read them.... hopefully that makes since.
